With the intent of starting a business, Shri Gopal Laxman Shanbhogue set up a rice mill in Udyavar in 1947, followed by another unit  in 1952 to manufacture coffee powder under the brand name Prabha. It was later on in 1962 that Kasturi Flour Mill was set up to manufacture wheat sojee and beaten rice flakes by the next generation of the Shanbhogue family.

There have been major milestones since then…..

1963:  Manufacture of Coffee Powder under the brand name “Kasturi

1972: Addition of an Oil manufacturing unit for coconut and gingelly oil

1983: Manufacture of Dals: Urid, Toor & Moong

1993: Addition of new products: Rice Rawa, Idli Rawa, Rice Flour & Ragi Flour

1997: Manufacture of Spices: Mustard & Fenugreek (Methi), Wheat & Ragi

2002: Manufacture of Cattle Feed and Additional products such as Horsegram and Maize

2014: Introduction of new products: Sojee, Maida, Besan, Jeera, Ajwain, Coriander

2016: Addition of products: Asafoetida, Kesar, Flax Seed

The list goes on and there has been no looking back ever since! Over the years, the family-run business has diversified, taken up new ventures and has successfully provided superior quality products to its customers.
