Happiness is when you smell a batch of freshly baked cookies!!
Its been a while that we at Kasturi have been getting things ready with going live with all our details online and we thought what better way to start off than with a batch of something sweet!!
NANKHATAI or NAREN KHATAR is a simple baked cookie that is sweet. A little crispy and a melt-in-the-mouth experience is what a Nankhatai gives you.
RECIPE CARD FOR NAN KHATAI:
INGREDIENTS:
- Maida: 1/2 kg
- Sugar: 1/4 kg
- Baking Soda: 1 1/2 spoon
- Ghee(melted): 150 gms
- Yellow Food Colour: 2 tsp
METHOD:
- Grease the drip tray and keep aside.
- Mix together all the ingredients and form a soft dough.
- Divide the dough 3 portions and leave for about 6 hours.
- Further divide the dough into equal portions and shape into balls.
- Place the balls onto the drip tray.
- Bake at 160°C for 15 minutes or till the top is lightly brown in colour.
- Similarly bake the rest of the Nankhatais.
- Cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight container.
- Serve as a snack.
