Being Indians we love to eat. We have 3 meals a day. The evening snack is usually home made, crunchy food with tea. So here we present Murukku, a crunchy snack which when served with tea makes a delightful snack on a monsoon evening which you can have in your balcony enjoying the rains.
RECIPE CARD FOR MURUKKU :
INGREDIENTS:
- Rice Flour : 1/2 kg
- Besan : 1/4 kg
- Ajwain : 1 Table Spoon
- Hing Powder : 1 Spoon
- Chili Powder : 2 Table Spoon
- Salt
METHOD:
Preparation Of Dough :
- Rice flour, Besan, Ajwain, Hing Powder, Chili Powder,salt and water is to be mixed thoroughly until a tough dough is formed.
- To the above 4 table Spoon of hot oil is to be poured and mixed thoroughly.
Preparation of Murukku
- To prepare Murukku you will require chakkli disks which are slightly larger in size.
- Place the discs towards the bottom of the cylindrical mould.
- Place the dough in the mould and keep it aside.
- Now pour oil in a pan and heat it.
- Now rotate the paddle of the cylindrical mould over the pan.
- Fry it till the color changes to golden and the murukku appears to be crisp
- Store it in an air tight container when it is cooled
