Sweets from the Indian subcontinent are the desserts of the Indian cuisine. Every festival in India is marked by different sweets.So here we present Puran Poli which is majorly prepared during Holi, Ugadi and Padwa.
Take one hot ubati, top it up with desi ghee. With one whole bite you will be transported into a delightful experience of pure goodness.

RECIPE CARD FOR PURAN POLI:
INGREDIENTS:
- Maida 1/2 kg
- Turmeric Powder 2 Table Spoon
- Gingelly Oil 50 ml
- Water
- Channa Dal 1/4 kg
- Sugar 1/4 kg
- Clove 4 No’s
- Salt
Method:
Preparation of Outer Dough

Maida, turmeric powder and salt is taken in a bowl and mixed well using fingertips.
- Add little water to make the dough soft.
- To the above dough add gingelly oil and keep it aside for an hour.
Preparation of Inner Dough
- Cook Channa Dal
- Mix the cooked Channa dal and sugar in a pan. Simmer the heat and cook the mixture until it starts to leave the sides of the pan and is thickened well.
- To the above add clove powder and mix it well.
- Keep the mixture aside and let it cool.
Preparation of Puran Poli
- Roll the outer dough to make small circles
- Stuff the circles with the inner dough
- Enclose the inner dough in the circles and roll again
- Now fry it in low flame
- Store in an air tight container
- Puran Poli is ready to serve
