SHANKARPALI

Shankarpali is a nice crunchy snack which makes a perfect partner with your tea or coffee!! Shankarpalis can be both sweet or salty and in this recipe card, we present the saltier version!!

RECIPE CARD FOR SHANKARPALI:

INGREDIENTS:

  • Maida: 4 Cups
  • Ghee: 1/2 Cup
  • Baking Soda: 1 Table Spoon
  • Sugar: 2 Cups
  • Water: 1 Cup
  • Salt

Method:

Preparation of  Dough 

  • Take water, salt, sugar and baking soda in a vessel and knead well to form a dough.
  • Add Maida as required to make a hard and non sticky dough.
  • Brush the dough with sufficient ghee and keep it aside for half an hour.

Preparation of  Shankarpali:

  • Make balls out of the dough
  • Roll out these the balls flat
  • With a knife or a wheel cutter, make diamond shapes from the dough.
  • Fry the above diamond shaped pieces till they turn golden brown.

Serve the Shankarpalis with a nice cup of cutting chai and savour the goodness of this snack.

Storage Tips:

  • Store in an air tight container.
