A delicious preparation of rice steamed in coconut milk with some fresh Haldi Leaves that lend it that aromatic lingering flavor of the freshness of turmeric is one of the delicacies of the Konkani Cuisine that one should try out during the rainy season with a fresh and new harvest of the turmeric leaves.

The recipe is a very simple one and can be made with just 3 ingredients!!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 pav raw rice
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 2 – 3 turmeric leaves
PREPARATION:
- Drop it in about half litre of hot water and cook it.
- Wash the rice.
- When the rice is half-cooked, drop the knots of turmeric leaves into it.
- Grind the grated coconut and extract coconut milk out of it.
- Add the coconut milk to the cooked rice and give it a good stir.
- Serve the Kheer with salt and pickles or with sugar and ghee.
Infused with the goodness of fresh turmeric leaves, this dish is a good immunity booster and helps cleanse the entire system. The Coconut milk being a rich source of protein and rice being a good source of carbohydrates, make this dish a complete and wholesome meal.
