We have been operating out of Udupi District in Karnataka since 1962, satisfying our customers with our wide range of processes Grains, Cereals and Pulses. Over the years, the family-run business has diversified and ventured into cleaning and grading (of whole spices, pulses, grains and cereals), Grain, Flours, Cattle Feed, etc. We aim at providing superior quality to our customers.

In addition to manufacturing and processing, we also focus on Wholesale and Consumer Retail Packs for Wheat and Wheat Products, Rice and Rice Products, Ragi and Ragi Products. Our Primary focus over the past 50 years has been to cater to the house-hold demand of Coastal Karnataka that covers the three districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada. Our wide range of products are also available in other parts of Karnataka and neighboring states.

ABOUT SHRI GOPAL LAXMAN SHANBHOGUE:
Our Fouding Father, Shri Gopal Laxman Shanbhogue was born to Smt. Yamuna and Sri Laxman Shanbhogue in 1903. Back then when basic schooling and education was a privelege, the young and inquisitive Shri Gopal Laxman Shanbhogue headed off to Mumbai to set out to do something on His own. In Mumbai, He completed His matriculation studying in an evening school. He then worked with railways as ticket collector. In the year 1930, He came back to Udyavara and started a small grocery shop in Udyavara itself, along with his brothers. He was a very dynamic and enterprising person by nature and eventually in 1947, He independently started manufacturing units for rice and coffee under brand name ‘Prabha’. After operating under this brand for a period of more than a decade, there was a shift in the business process and the brand ‘Kasturi’ was born in 1962. And ever since, the family-run business has slowly ventured into many sections and products.
ABOUT THE BRAND KASTURI:
With the intent of starting a business, Shri Gopal Laxman Shanbhogue set up a rice mill in Udyavar in 1947, followed by another unit in 1952 to manufacture coffee powder under the brand name Prabha. It was later on in 1962 that Kasturi Flour Mill was set up by the next generation of the Shanbhogue family, to manufacture wheat sojee and beaten rice flakes.

There have been major milestones since then…..
1963: Manufacture of Coffee Powder under the brand name Kasturi
1972: Addition of an Oil manufacturing unit for coconut and gingelly oil
1983: Manufacture of Dals: Urid, Toor & Moong
1993: Addition of new products: Rice Rawa, Idli Rawa, Rice Flour & Ragi Flour
1997: Manufacture of Spices: Mustard & Fenugreek (Methi), Wheat & Ragi
2002: Manufacture of Cattle Feed and Additional products such as Horsegram and Maize
2014: Introduction of new products: Sojee, Maida, Besan, Jeera, Ajwain, Coriander
2016: Addition of products: Asafoetida, Kesar, Flax Seed

The list goes on and there has been no looking back ever since! Over the years, the family-run business has diversified, taken up new ventures and has successfully provided superior quality products to its customers.
